TeleLife, EZ-App, PruXpress, AppAssist, and TeleApp are easy, fast ways to start the application Process!
There is a new trend by various insurance companies demonstrating an easier way to begin the application process. While TeleLife, EZ-App, PruXpress, AppAssist, and TeleApp are different, they are similar in the fact that they are shorter life insurance applications that are designed to keep the insurance agent away from piles of paperwork so that they can keep selling. Some of these processes are web-based, which do not require initial signatures of the proposed insured, while the others are an abbreviated application that can be faxed to the company.
TeleLife and EZ-App
Both Protective and West Coast Life utilize TeleLife. This is an abbreviated application that you fill out with the client. Once you fill out the one page and fax it to the company, the process begins. The company will do an extended telephone interview with the client and get the medical and financial history. Upon completion of the interview, the company will send an application packet directly to the client for all of the necessary signatures. They will also schedule the paramedical examinations and labs. The examiner will then pick up the application and send it to the company with the lab results. In addition, the company is responsible for ordering all of the Attending Physician Statements, if necessary.
Protective and West Coast Life also have web-based versions of this process. Protective’s is simply “TeleLife Web Entry,” while West Coast Life calls theirs “EZ-App.” The process remains the same with the exception that the initial information is not collected on paper; it is entered into their website and with no required signatures of the proposed insured. The company can also collect the initial premium via credit card or bank draft.
PruXpress
Prudential utilizes the PruXpress Application. It is similar to the other programs with the interview and shorter application, although, no application packet will be sent to the client. The agent also must indicate on the application that they would prefer Prudential to order the paramedical exam. (Please note that the PruXpress form is mandatory for face amounts below $250,000.)
AppAssist
Banner Life calls their program, “AppAssist.” They boast that AppAssist is “designed to make it easy for you to facilitate the sale of high-quality, low-cost term insurance.” The defining feature of this program is that Banner allows the proposed insured to give a voice signature during the interview to allow underwriting to immediately commence. They do not have to wait for the application packet to be returned to the company.
TeleApp
TeleApp, from Aviva/ Indianapolis Life, is yet another simplified way to sell life Insurance. After a short interview, the company takes care of the medical requirements. Upon approval, the completed application and the policy is sent to the agent for the necessary client signatures.
